Mom cozy brag

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was having trouble with one of my wearable mom cozy M5 pumps. I finally emailed them yesterday and they emailed me right back and said that they could send me a new one or they would replace it with one of equal value and they also gave me some tips on how to see if I can make it work. I requested a new one and got up this morning to an email saying that it has been shipped and I will receive it in three to seven days. What an amazing company! I just had to brag on them.

Bummed out, grief

Hi all. A few weeks have passed since I last posted. I think my subject line was something like, "Am I really doing this just for me" or something similar.

I was overwhelmed with the understanding and compassion in the replies. I was surprised to learn a few people felt similarly as I described in the post.

I'm so put-out with being put-off even though I told myself it didn't matter, this is for me regardless of the reciprocation and my dear one has health limitations. I feel as though I've given up on a dream or goal but the angst of the other feelings I believe have won. I'm sad over it and am grieving. I haven't done so yet, but I'll probably be gathering up my beloved nursing bras, shirts, dresses and my standard style pump and my wearable pump and donate them to a women's shelter.

Smoothie recipe!

Heyy, I've been noticing more clear fluid coming out per session with my smoothie. Ymmv and try at your own risk. For context I am trans and have cis-men levels of Testosterone and I kept my breast tissue.

I blend frozen strawberries, banana, msm, moringa powder, honey, soymilk, rice protein powder and sometimes maca. I top it with rolled oats after blending.

I eyeball things but can try to give yall a measurement if requested. I have it once in the morning.

I would love to hear yalls go to smoothie recipes as the weather heats up.

Dom experiences

Has anybody had complications or severe side effects from domperidone? I have been on the fence for a year. Thanks.

Pleasantly surprised at the doctors office

Well, I did it… I went to gynecologist today for the dreaded lady bit checkup. I discussed menopausal symptoms. Then, gasp, we discussed mammograms as I am that age and a few years overdue. I mentioned that I was lactating and asked how that affected mammograms. I was told they do mammograms all the time on lactating women and it was no big deal. She was completely professional, supportive and aside from asking necessary questions to assure health acted completely unphased! All this hype, avoidance and fear for not… I will definitely be going back to her.

Been a Bit, Update

Hellooo,

Been a bit. Life has been crazy and stopped pumping after that first week due to traveling and just life being crazy but I’m back to pumping as often as I can.

Exciting news! My Dom came today 4/15 woot woot!

Going to start it here shortly. But wanted to ask what was everyone’s dose amounts that they did starting out? Thinking of doing 10mg 4 times a day. For the first 1-2 weeks then increase to 20 and so on.

How to tell my s/o

I've recently decided to finally act on my desire to relactate. I just don't know how to tell my husband and I'm worried he's going to think I'm weird.

I have lactated before (previous pregnancies last one being a little over 5 years ago). I've always had small amounts of nipple discharge and I don't think it will be difficult for me to induce lactation.

So far I've been using a hand pump in secret (mostly in the bathroom or when I'm alone in the house). I've ordered domperidone and I'm waiting on it to arrive.

Obviously, my husband is going to figure it out eventually if I start lactating. I'm just not sure how to initiate a conversation before then. Any tips or previous experience would be greatly appreciated!

Bit of a rant..

I've run into some problems in the last 24 hours, yesterday was a great pumping day, even at work, but last night I couldn't stand the flanges on me and I terminated a pumping session, but the output for the day was actually great. This morning the trouble continues, I've completed 30 mins with gritted teeth, and again the output was improved even managed half an ounce out of my best boob... The sensitivity of my breasts is off the scale, way more than usual and I can't stand even the softest material against them... My friend said she had this with her second child and that I should pump through it, reducing pumping to just enough to relieve the chance of mastitis... Any thoughts?

Struggling to Find a Breast Pump That Fully Empties Me – Large Breasts, Small Nipples

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone out there has had a similar experience and can point me in the right direction.

I’ve been having a really tough time finding a breast pump that works for me. I’ve tried the Spectra, Momcozy S9, and the Medela Pump in Style, along with just about every flange size and insert I could find—including 13mm inserts, which seem to fit my nipples best.

Despite all that, I still struggle to fully empty my breasts. I’m an F cup with small nipples, and I feel like that combo is just not compatible with most pumps out there.

Even after a warm shower, lots of massage, and power pumping, I can still hand express a significant amount afterward, which is frustrating. It feels like I’m doing everything right, but something about the mechanics or fit just isn’t working.

Does anyone have recommendations for electric pumps that are especially effective for large breasts with small nipples? I’d love to hear what’s worked for others in similar situations.

Thanks in advance—I’m so grateful for any advice or tips.

Starting dom?

Hi, I'm needing some advice about starting dom. I understand that it's something that has the possibility of being dangerous, and I'm in the US, so I can't get an official prescription for it. Aside from that, I am still on my parent's health insurance plan, and I don't want to have to explain to them specifically why I'm seeing a doctor for no discernable reason 💀. Should I just hold off on dom until I can get a professional's advice on it? Thanks in advance!

Stopping dom but keeping on

Has anyone stopped dom, for whatever reason, and kept pumping? I’m ready to prioritize weight loss and go on a glp-1. The weight loss does not work as long as I’m taking dom, so I temporarily need to go off of it. It’s day four without dom and I went form 1-2 oz per side per pump down to maybe .5 oz per pump total. Very sad 😔. Is it safe to say that dom is the only thing that will give me more milk? I still pump a lot so the frequency thing doesn’t seem to help.

Does nipple size stop growing?

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day so far. 41F and I have been pumping for over a week now and have noticed progress and clear liquid coming out. My nipples have been getting bigger and more dense but I am getting self-conscious. If you had this, how did you deal? Pump less, embrace it, something else? Any feedback everyone has is very appreciated!

How much breast milk do you produce a day on average?

Trying to get an idea of the range of production for self-induced lactation

TENS Placement Picture?

Hey Everyone!

Super new, but I'm really interested in trying! Also very confused 🥲. Is there a diagram or something of "best practice" placement for the electrodes? And size?

I know it's going to be dependent on the breast, but I'm having a hard time picturing where to start. I've seen mention of avoiding the areola and also placing them close to the nipples but not too close?

How big of an electrode should I be using compared to the breast?

I've also seen the silicone pac-man pads mentioned and I'm interested in those because it would cut down on how often I need to replace electrodes. But those seem like they would be really close to the nipple?

Suction and cycle levels

While inducing how do you determine suction and cycle levels? I have a Spectra s1 and have tried various settings and no idea what I should be at.

I have elastic nipples that are tough (I can man handle them) and I have a high pain tolerance so I can't go by what hurts and what doesn't. I can honestly pump for an hour on 12 at the highest cycle rate and not be phased.

Flange sizing and nipple elasticity

Hey one of my nipples is larger and more elastic than the other and now I've realised why that particular nipple seemed to be off alignment I'm kinda noticing I'm often now finding my nipple a little stuck in the Flange after pumping.... now do I reduce the settings for pumping or do I need to try going up a Flange size? Thanks

I can’t seem to make more than .5 Oz of milk each time I pump

I drink water, I take 60mg of dom a day, I pump twice a day just hard being a bartender, my partner isn’t as interested as he used to be in nursing and I don’t want him to see it as a chore but some days I feel they’re wanting to produce more. I take herbal supplements, I just not quite sure what to do. I want him to nurse more I want to produce more so badly

Genuine Question

What's the best way of initiating a ABF/ANR, or where does one start in this community in general. I'm inexperienced and I don't know how to effectively engage anything especially in my small somewhat repressed area of the states. Any comments from anyone here?

Review of Adapted Milk Containers For Pumpables Lovers (and others!) Making Under 1.5 oz Per Breast w/Video 🍼

Hello lactation lovelies! Thanks to u/Smut_Kitten putting up a lovely post asking for some new milk container ideas, u/NefariousShe and u/ScribbledUniverse both had great suggestions. The Medela containers and the Maymom containers with 2nd generation adapter. I decided to start with the more cost effective Maymom to see if I liked them as I rarely eclipse 1.5 ounce per breast, and typically produce between 1.3-1.75 total per day with the occasion 2 ounce fluke. I felt these could be a nice confidence boost, as well as a streamlined option that may keep the sheilds and flanges sitting straighter against my stomach with a smaller bottle profile!

I already own lots of after market parts from Maymom, so I was totally comfortable with the brand, they were also half the price and the smaller of the two options. I received my containers and adapters yesterday morning and put them to use. As of today, I can say I really do love them. The only downside is that they do not fit into a bottle rest when you set your pump down, but I was able to work around this easily, and they did stand for me. I went ahead and made a couple super short videos to show you that the adapters DO sit flush against the Pumpables Liquid Kit shields and the Maymom containers are very secure and easy to screw on. The Pumpables LKs also fit NCVI and Baby Buddha bottles, which seem to be pretty standard for wide mouth bottles, so I'd venture to say these adapters would work for most mainstream wide mouth pump sheilds The adapters also state they work with Spectra S1 and S2. These are lightweight, easy to wash/boil sterilize, super discreet, and allow my sheilds to sit at the perfect angle for milk to move down the flange. I WISH I had thought to utilize these when I was making less as it would have been a HUGE confidence boost. The mLs are very clearly marked and begin at 1, so very friendly to you in the early stages of production, especially with the angled bottom, making sure to round up all those stray droplets. I have even been able to hand express into to them, but I also hand express into bottles daily - which took some practice at first 😅.

Video of adapters in place on LKs, sitting totally flush and secure

Video of Maymom 1.5s versus Pumpables 4oz and 6oz bottles for size comp with caps and showing ease of adapter install

I hope this is helpful to someone!
