A new rule has been added to the subreddit.
Rule 9: Include your kinks and limits.
This rule will be one of many to improve post quality. Failure to comply will lead to your posts being removed and disobeying the rules often enough will lead to a temporary, then a permanent ban and while the automation isn't quite working yet it will be resolved and implemented.
Updates:
This rule will center more so around character looks than it will around character cannon ages. If you want to be safe, add "18+ characters and participants" to your post but be wary of art depicting minors or characters the mod team deem are minors and if you're unsure, don't post.
3. The poll about low effort rule will be up for the rest of the week, at the end of which it will be reviewed and the results and possible future plans shared.
Have fun, write well, and remember, the mods are always checking the queue, so if you see something which you think violates the rules, report it.
Firstly some housekeeping, just because I am a moderator doesn't mean my opinion is valued higher than yours, and I'm simply making this pole to ask of the opinions of all of the community.
This poll won't change the subreddit overnight, it might not even change at all, it's just here so the moderation team can get a good understanding of the communities attitude towards effort, literacy and written out prompts.
But let's first discuss what such a rule would look like.
The simplest and perfered way would be to introduce a minimum character count that every post has to fulfil.
This would give the incentive to write more and would promote creativity and higher quality, well written posts as well as teaching newer, inexperienced roleplayers that the path to a fulfilling rp is a well written out prompt.
There are of course pros and cons to this which I will list now:
Pros:
it promotes higher levels of literacy and creativity
it gives people looking at the plot a better idea of what exactly the poster is looking for
many bots use short posts, lengthening the requirements using tools like automod will remove many bot posts.
Cons:
newer, inexperienced roleplayers, may struggle to meet the desired minimum of characters and might feel discouraged from participating.
posts which don't have plot ideas and instead ask to be brought plot ideas won't be able to meet the character requirements either without introducing filler.
Now that they have been listed I would like to say that I am rather biased as an experienced roleplayer and as such need the help of all of you voting to find out if the community doesn't need improvement and is good as is, or of improvement might be a good idea.
And of course. If you do vote, which is not required, by the way, do give an explanation of why you voted for yes or no.
Come to me with your wildest fantasies, and I'll fulfill them ❤️ No limits. I'm down to basically anything and have quite a lot of experience doing this. Be sure to mention the word achiever so I know you read the post. I've just been bored lately so thought I'd hop on here for some fun.
Don't DM me a simple hi or hello.
DM me your kinks, limits, ASL, ref, plot or you probably won't get a response.
